King Charles’s major royal plans are about to take a hit on grandson Prince Archie’s birthday.
The monarch’s 2026 garden party season is set to begin on May 6 at Buckingham Palace. However, it also marks the same day that their son Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s eldest son, Prince Archie, turns seven.
The annual event is a long-standing royal tradition, celebrating individuals across the UK for their contributions to public service and charity work.
In addition, garden parties are scheduled for May 8 and May 12 at Buckingham Palace, as well as a special event involving The Not Forgotten Association on May 19. The final meeting will be held at the Palace of Holyroodhouse on 30 June.
It is worth mentioning that there is a reported distance between King Charles and his grandson Prince Archie as the monarch has had limited contact with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son since he stepped back from royal duties in 2020.
Prince Harry has previously expressed his desire to reconcile with his family.
The Duke said in an interview with the BBC last year, “I would love to be reconciled with my family, there is no point in continuing to fight. Life is precious, I don’t know how much time my father has left, he won’t talk to me because of this security stuff.”
He added, “If they don’t want to do that, that’s totally up to them.”
Prince Archie’s birthday is expected to be celebrated privately with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and younger sister, Princess Lilibet.
