Update: A few hours later, the new public beta version has arrived. Apple says iOS 26.5 will arrive for everyone in May.
Apple has released the fourth iOS 26.5 beta for developers. The previous beta introduced a splash screen that hinted at the upcoming arrival of ads in Apple Maps.
iOS 26.5 Features and Changes
The build version is 23F5069b, up from 23F5059e in iOS 26.5 beta 4. We expect Apple to officially release iOS 26.5 for everyone in May.
Although there are no Gemini-powered AI features, the iOS 26.5 update does include some changes.
The most discoverable new feature in iOS 26.5 is Maps. The new “Suggested Places” feature is now part of Search in Apple Maps.
Apple also continues to test end-to-end encryption for RCS in beta.
Specifically in Europe, Apple is testing the ability to deliver Live Activities to third-party peripherals.
