Acts 2:37-47
Act 2
37 When the people heard this, their hearts were broken, and they said to Peter and the other apostles, “Sirs and brothers, what should we do?”
38 Peter answered them, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. (1) Sin, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is for you, and for your children, and for all who live afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”
40 He testified solemnly in many other words, pleading with them, “Keep yourselves from this crooked generation.”
41 those who (2) His message was accepted and baptized and about three thousand people joined that day.
Christians lived in unity
42 They held fast to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, the breaking of bread, and the prayers. 43 Every soul was filled with astonishment, (3) And many miracles and signs were performed by the apostles. 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 They were selling their property and assets and distributing the proceeds as per anyone’s need.
46 Day after day, with one mind, they were dedicated to meeting in the temple area, and they continued to break bread in their homes. They shared their food with joy and true heart, 47 Since he kept praising God and was looked upon favorably by all the people. Day by day the Lord added to the number of those who were being saved.
