Daniel Radcliffe opens up about his personal journey!
Speaking during a post-show panel for his Broadway play Every Brilliant Thing, the Harry Potter star admitted that in his youth he wouldn’t have recognized the man he’s become today.
Reflecting on his past, Daniel also shared the experience of being “extremely unhappy” in his younger years.
“There have been times in my life when I have been very sad, especially when I was very young,” he said.
Danielle continued, “I spent today walking down the street with my 3-year-old son, he just held my hand and he was beautiful and fun and silly – and I’m so happy.”
Noting, “If you had shown them to me when I was 20, I wouldn’t have recognized myself.”
As the drama Every Brilliant Thing focuses on depression and mental health struggles, the actor said, “There is such potential for profound happiness in the future, even if you’re not there right now. It’s always worth giving the future a chance to prove you wrong.”
Additionally, Daniel said that the show is the “deepest, most meaningful” he has ever done.
He said, “The opportunity to connect with people about mental health is really rare. As a cast member on this show, you get this amazing view of how talented and compassionate people can be.”
Daniel Radcliffe began his acting career at the age of ten in the 1999 two-part adaptation of David Copperfield. He rose to fame with his iconic role as Harry Potter in the franchise.
