if you ask me, H&M Home is a seriously underestimated part of the prestige retailer’s business. Fashion people are very familiar with well-priced clothing, bags, shoes, sunglasses and swimwear from Swedish brands, but I imagine that not so many tables, cabinets, pillows, beach towels, vases, trays and mugs are included in their online shopping carts. But this is about to change. H&M Home recently announced an exciting new collaboration with LA-based designer Kelly Wearstler, and these pieces are demanding to be featured in the world’s coolest apartments.
Although it can’t be purchased until September 3, the collab will be unveiled at this year’s Milan Design Week, with the installation open to the public from April 21 to April 26. The immersive display will include items from the collab as well as individual pieces. “This collection represents many firsts for us. Presence at Milan Design Week has long been a dream, and with Kelly, we knew the moment was right,” says Evelina Kravev-Söderberg, Head of H&M Home Design and Creative. “H&M Home has a global presence, but with this milestone, we wanted to impact customers and the design industry in a new way. When we discovered the venue—Palazzo Acerbi—everything fell into place.”
