You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the unrighteous. It is very rare that one would die for a righteous person, although one might possibly dare to die for a good person. But God demonstrates His love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:6-8
live today with confidence
This part of the Bible is not easy to read. It says some very uncomfortable things about us. Here, the Apostle Paul describes us as “unrighteous” and “sinners.” Those are not pleasant descriptors. But unfortunately, they are accurate. And, because of our unrighteous ways and our sinful thoughts, words, and actions, our Creator could allow us to die in those sins and be separated from Him forever. This is what we would have deserved.
But instead, God chose to love us! Yes, in an amazing act of His will, He determined that He would come to this earth for you and me and all people, live for us, die for us. In an amazing act of will, he decided to save us. In an amazing act of love, Christ came and died in our place. God has chosen to love us with the most amazing love ever.
So, you can live confidently today, knowing that God is on your side, knowing that God loves you so much!
Prayer:
Assure me that you have chosen to love me, dear Savior. Because of this fill me with peace. Amen.
