Life can be too busy to spare time for workouts or go on strict diets. But consistency and discipline can play a big part in helping you stay on track. The same was the case for a fitness expert who shed a massive 25 kg in just 6 months at 46, something most find impossible
In one of his recent posts, Zee Ali, a South Asian health specialist, shared the secret to his weight loss. Surprisingly, most of it included habits he incorporated into his life beyond food and exercise. “These aren’t quick fixes; just the basics I do consistently that keep me feeling and looking good all year,” he wrote

Using a planner
If you find it unusual, think again. A planner contains your hair, nail, and doctor’s appointments, but not your health. “No plan = No consistency = You lose,” Ali noted
Eating 2 times a day
According to Ali, a high-protein breakfast can be a game-changer, along with training. “After my workout I’ll have a 40/50g protein shake which keeps me going until early evening.”
No doomscrolling
Doomscrolling, especially at night, can affect your sleep, which plays a crucial role in weight loss. “I stop looking at any screen 30 mins before sleep. I fall asleep faster, I’m well rested and have more energy the next day.”

Having an anchor
Ali underscored the importance of having an anchor, which means creating non-negotiable habits that keep you in check despite a busy life. For him, it’s strength training 5 times a week
Not making excuses
Life is always going to be busy, but sticking to routine and staying accountable can help a great deal. “That’s the difference and what keeps me in shape at 46. Consistency, not perfection.”
