The last time Sinéad Quinn worked on Sydney’s North Shore she was an advertising executive in North Sydney. Now, years later she has returned to the area in a distinctively different industry, opening a dynamic somatic practice studio in Neutral Bay.

The move marks yet another significant moment in what has been an incredible life journey for Quinn. Her transition away from the corporate world began with a realisation while living in London. Facing what felt like the verge of a nervous breakdown, she attended a yoga and meditation retreat on a remote island off the west coast of Ireland. “I felt like I was either going to have a nervous breakdown or I had to find something that was going to support me mentally and emotionally,” she recalls. “I just realised that it all had to shift.”

Following that retreat, Quinn pivoted toward building a deeper mind-body connection, eventually training in meditation and health. A second major transition occurred while raising her three children. Navigating the trauma surrounding the births of her children, particularly her eldest son who has Down syndrome, opened her eyes to the physical impact of stress. “Through studying health and wellbeing… I started recognising the connection of stress, both physical and mental, to autoimmune disease and disease in general,” she explains.

This experience led her to study nutrition and eventually immerse herself in the somatic space, where she realised that cognitive understanding alone was not enough. “Ultimately until they get to that core area of where the stress is coming from, nothing really shifts permanently.”

Now, Quinn has established a new studio at 65 Military Road in Neutral Bay. After a year-long search for a suitable space in Sydney, she found the location through a local Facebook community group. The fit felt immediate and aligned. “It just evolved so easily with ease,” she says of finding the space. “It is flooded with beautiful natural light, which is so unusual in an office space… It ticks every box.”

The new studio serves as a hub for a range of holistic practices designed to support mental and physical wellbeing. Quinn provides Breath & Energy Healing, which utilises breathwork to regulate the nervous system, and Spinal Energetics to release stored physical and emotional tension. Her practice also includes Emotional Freedom Technique, which involves tapping on acupressure points; tailored Mindset & Health coaching; Reiki; and Rest & Meditation sessions incorporating Yoga Nidra. Additionally, she offers private Somatic Coaching Containers, designed to help individuals foster self-trust and integrate new insights into their daily lives.

The benefits of Quinn’s somatic approach are in its ability to address trauma held within the body, rather than just the mind. She argues that the body often flags danger long before the conscious brain catches up, explaining why many clients struggle with seemingly irrational anxiety. “So let’s get to the core memory, the core belief, and then we can change that or reduce it. And then the brain stops firing off these anxious signals,” she notes.

Clients often report profound transformations in their capacity to handle life’s challenges. “Instead of people being so reactive, they respond instead with capacity… they’re able to create these beautiful shifts.”
