Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine of Denmark received their confirmation in a ceremony at Fredensborg Palace Church on Saturday, according to a statement released by the royal family on social media.
The event took place in the same church where Queen Margrethe II was confirmed in 1955 and King Frederick X in 1981.
The Danish-language caption accompanying the social media statement read: “The moment of confirmation of Their Royal Highnesses Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine in Fredensborg Palace Church.
In front of the palace church altar, the prince and princess were confirmed by the royal confessor, Bishop Henrik Vigh-Poulsen.
During the last 100 years, Fredensborg Palace Church has been the center of special royal confirmations. Her Majesty Queen Margrethe and His Majesty the King were both confirmed here in 1955 and 1981 respectively. “Recently the Church has confirmed His Royal Highness the Crown Prince in 2021 and Her Majesty Princess Isabella in 2022.”
Meanwhile, the Danish royal family attended the service, which marked a personal milestone for the young prince and princess.
