LSG captain Rishabh Pant, who left the field after injuring his forearm during their last game against Royal Challengers Bangalore and did not come out to field, is reported to be available for the upcoming match.
Lucknow Super Giants made a great start to their campaign, with their bowlers especially performing well against Delhi Capitals, despite their batsmen struggling to perform aggressively in the tournament. But this has been the story of the last five matches and the LSG batsmen have not been able to find their rhythm yet.
Their worries have been compounded, with players being sidelined by injuries, and their hearts must have skipped a beat when captain Rishabh Pant had to leave the field after sustaining a serious injury to his forearm while facing Josh Hazlewood.

Lucknow Super Giants will be breathing a sigh of relief as their captain and star batsman Rishabh Pant has recovered and is all set to continue playing in the next game against Punjab Kings. The match marks a big contest in the rivalry week, as the two highest-paid captains face off against each other.
“He is absolutely fine, fit to play tomorrow,” Arun told media persons ahead of the PBKS match to be played in the afternoon. The wicketkeeper batsman played a good innings in LSG’s first win against Sunrisers Hyderabad, but since then his bat has been silent.

LSG bowling coach Bharat Arun was pleased with the role his bowlers played in the team’s limited success and also claimed that he was pleased to see so many of the young bowlers make positive returns from injuries.
“Yes, there is always room for improvement but I think we are quite happy with the way they are performing.” Arun elaborated, “I am extremely happy with his progress and I strongly believe that coaching only begins when you connect with each individual. Because every individual is different.”
He further added, “And how quickly I connect with these bowlers is my challenge. And as far as that is concerned, I think I have connected with them well. And every bowler is different. So I think what they want from me will be different for every bowler. That’s how I cater to their needs.”
What has been LSG’s biggest concern in IPL 2026?
Lucknow Super Giants might be worried about the form of their batsmen, as players like Mitchell Marsh, Aiden Markram, Rishabh Pant and Nicholas Pooran have not played a single good innings to give their team some joy.
However, concerns have grown when players have been sidelined with injuries. This is common with fast bowlers in the team, and hence, despite including eight fast bowlers, they were able to include only a handful of them. Mohsin Khan got injured after just one game this season.
The LSG bowling coach said, “Our biggest challenge is to get everyone prepared for the match. So whoever plays is confident of performing well. Your plan has to be very flexible. So sometimes, it is like any other strategy. Even in a war, you have this defense and attack.”
