Match number 28 of the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL), 2026 was between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals (RR). This was the afternoon game of the first doubleheader on Sunday. KKR had entered this match after losing six of their matches in the tournament. However, in this game, the situation changed for the Knights as KKR defeated RR by 4 wickets.
The RR captain won the toss and decided to field first on a dry wicket, and he made two changes in the game, with Shimron Hetmyer and Brijesh Sharma coming into the team. Hetmyer and Ravindra Jadeja handled the finishing work, but after scoring some runs, Jaddu returned to the pavilion and in the same over, Karthik Tyagi took three wickets, Jaddu also returned to the pavilion and Ravi Bishnoi was out on zero. RR could only reach a score of 155/9; This was a great comeback by the KKR bowlers.
While chasing the target, KKR had the worst start and they lost opener Tim Seifert on the very first ball and in the next over, Ajinkya Rahane also returned without opening the account. Cameron Green, who was looking good, was unfortunate to have a brilliant stumping by Dhruv Jurel.
Now KKR’s score is 52/4 within 8 overs and Rovman Powell and Rinku Singh are at the crease. The former player was out on the score of 23 and Ramandeep Singh also went back inside the dressing room after staying for a while. After that the knights were in trouble. Rinku and Anukul Roy formed the partnership for the team. Rinku and Anukul finished with scores of 53 and 29 runs respectively.
