Pope Leo XIV continued his apostolic visit to Africa on 20 April in Angola, flying to Saurimo, where he visited a home for the elderly and celebrated Mass for more than 60,000 faithful.
“There are wrong motives for seeking Christ, especially when he is considered a master or a symbol of good fortune,” the Pope said April 20, referring to the reaction of the crowd reading the Gospel after Jesus performed the miracle of the loaves and fishes.
He concluded his day with a meeting with bishops, priests, consecrated men and women, catechists and other pastoral workers at the Parish of Our Lady of Fatima in Luanda.
