Jeremy Jordan is adding his magic to a classic role.
Currently acting as Bobby Darin broadway Production at the right timeJordan steps into the role, succeeding Jonathan Groff and Matthew Morrison.
While honoring what came before, he has also made some personal adjustments related to costume choices.
in an interview with people magazineJordan revealed he requested a different look for the musical number Splash.
Reportedly, unlike previous performances, which included a more revealing swimsuit, Jordan opted for a vintage-style dress.
“This might actually be my favorite dress I’ve ever worn,” he began.
“Listen, I’m 41, I’m not as fit as I used to be, so I’m a little self-conscious about it, and I didn’t want to add that element to it.”
Rather than leaning towards a more traditionally “sexy” performance, Jordan admitted to choosing a comedic angle that was better suited to her interpretation.
“My pitch was like, instead of being sexy and doing thirst traps on stage in a bathtub, what if I just do comedy?” he explained.
Before concluding, he admitted, “So, we made one of those old-timey swimsuits. It’s like a tank top in swim trunks. It’s fantastic.”
