King Charles has shared an emotional message with the people of Australia and New Zealand as the monarch marked ANZAC Day.
The palace shared the message on social media handles on behalf of King Charles and other senior members of the royal family.
“Today is #ANZACDay – which honors the members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) who have served and died in all wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations,” the statement reads.
At the top of the historical image, which clearly shows soldiers crowded inside a landing craft, it was inscribed “Anzac Day, lest we forget”.
The palace released the statement after Harry stressed on Friday that he will “always be part of the royal family” despite their public disagreements.
In an interview with a UK broadcaster in Ukraine, Prince Harry said, “I will always be a part of the royal family and I’m here working and doing what I was born to do, and I enjoy doing it.”
The term “working royal” is used to describe senior members of the royal family who perform official functions as representatives of the monarchy.
