Israel’s war on Gaza has killed more than 72,000 people, including thousands of children and women. Some independent researchers believe the actual number of deaths is much higher.
The attacks came as a limited group of wounded Palestinians were evacuated from Gaza through the Rafah crossing with Egypt following a 19-day blockade by Israel since it began bombing Iran.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said only eight Palestinians and 17 of their family members injured in Israeli strikes during the Gaza war will be allowed to cross into Egypt for medical treatment after the crossing, seen as a lifeline for Palestinians, reopened on Thursday.
