Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson have raised eyebrows with their recent decisions.
As fans will know, the former couple announced their separation last January. At the time, Jessica’s announcement confirmed months of fan speculation, fueled by the fact that she hadn’t posted a photo with Eric on social media since 2023.
However, it was then reported that they have decided to remain “amicable” for the sake of their three children, and are even living together.
Now, star magazine has reported that the songbird is struggling to leave her ex-husband.
Reportedly, this has led insiders to describe their dynamic as a “complicated” environment for Johnson because she is sending him mixed messages.
“It’s like she’s playing with his heart,” a source said.
Even though Simpson has been quite vocal about her chapter, insiders suggested Johnson is staying in the family home for other reasons beyond co-parenting.
The source added, “She’s been very vocal about wanting to date other men, but she’s still extremely co-dependent on Eric.”
Before concluding, she added, “So he’s getting a lot out of this arrangement, which really isn’t fair to the poor guy, because he would love to give the marriage another chance.”
