Hundreds of dogs and cats were found at a home in Lake Hughes early Friday morning in what officials described as the largest animal rescue ever seen in the county and possibly the country.
The cats and dogs were found as part of a search warrant executed Friday morning by the Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control.
When deputies arrived at the 46000 block of 266th Street, they estimated there were approximately 700 animals on the property.
The search warrant was executed with the help of investigators along with officers from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. Said in a social media post.
