Thousands of ovens are being removed from use in Canada as part of a new oven recall linked to a potential burn risk.
A recall notice issued Thursday warns that the use of some Frigidaire gas ranges should be discontinued immediately due to a safety issue.
The notice states that the appliances “may experience delayed ignition of the oven’s bake burner,” increasing the risk of burns.
According to the recall notice, a total of 62 incidents have injured at least one person in Canada and 30 in the United States.
The affected ranges were sold between June 2025 and January 2026. About 5,318 units were sold in Canada, as well as 174,800 units in the United States.
The company says owners should contact Electrolux Group to arrange for a free in-home repair, which will include installing a new bake burner.
Until repairs are completed, the cooktop burner can be used safely.
The recall applies to a range of models and serial numbers listed in the official notice.
