There are many reasons to be grateful for the long-awaited arrival of spring, but at the top of my list is the chance to say goodbye to my chunky shoes, dust off my favorite sandals, and refresh the color of my pedicure. Thankfully, there are already abundant pedicure trends to take inspiration from this year, with plenty of attractive pedi spring shades to choose from for the new season. My favorite, however, comes courtesy of a warm and sophisticated update on the minimalist nail look. Enter: the toffee pedicure.

Evolving from the hugely popular chocolate brown color palette that dominated last year, the toffee pedicure is a slightly lighter and brighter alternative that still feels incredibly versatile. “Toffee and caramel brown shades are essentially becoming the new neutrals, replacing the traditional pinky nude with something more elevated and fashion-based,” explains session manicurist ami roads.

The beauty of toffee pedicures is that those creamy butterscotch tones really suit everyone, as long as you choose the right shade for you. “Shade selection really is everything, and finding the right shade for your skin tone is important,” explains nail artist milly mason. “The wrong undertone can make your toenails look a little pale or faux, but when you get the right color, a toffee or caramel pedicure looks gorgeous.”
