Spider-Man: Brand New Day has not been released in theaters yet. Nevertheless, it has surprised Hollywood and fans alike by breaking records and creating a record of its own in just 4 days.
The return of the web-slinger, Spidey hero, grossed over 1 billion views in record time, making the teaser the first film trailer to reach such an incredible milestone.
But this isn’t the only record set by the Tom Holland Spider-Man teaser.
According to Wavemetric, the trailer has been viewed 1 billion times, making it the most viewed film teaser of all time.
Holland’s prowess as Peter Parker was put on display when the trailer for Brand New Day garnered 718.6 million views in its first 24 hours.
To put this in perspective, Deadpool and Wolverine received 365 million views in the first day, and even the highly anticipated video game Grand Theft Auto VI received 475 million views in 24 hours.
After just eight hours, the trailer had been viewed 373 million times worldwide, enough to make history before the day was out.
Meanwhile, Peter Parker faces a new kind of challenge in Spider-Man: Brand New Day as a spell from Doctor Strange erases his identity from people’s minds.
Along with them, Zendaya and Jacob Batalon are returning along with newcomer Sadie Sink. But Marvel veterans are also ready to reprise their roles. For example, Mark Ruffalo and Jon Bernthal.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits theaters July 31.
