peace-a weapon against the devil
“Yes, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me.” – Psalm 23:4a KJV
Your calmness is truly a weapon in workplace battles. The workplace creates many opportunities to snatch our peace. Cash flow concerns, deadlines, relationships – they all create stress on us. Your trust in the God of peace shows that you are not falling prey to Satan’s lies. You see the first step towards having spiritual authority over the adversary is to have peace regardless of our circumstances. When Jesus faced Satan, He did not face Satan because of his emotions or fear. Knowing that Satan was a liar, he refused to be influenced by any voice other than the voice of God. His peace overwhelmed Satan; His authority then broke the lie, causing the demons to flee.
It is a place to walk with God where you have no fear of any evil. David faced a lion, a bear, and a giant. In this psalm he himself stood in “the shadow of death,” yet he “feared no evil.” David trusted in the Lord. He said, “…because you are with me.” Because God is with you, every adversity you face will turn into victory when you keep your faith in God! David continued, “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies” (Psalm 23:5a). The battle you are in will soon become food for you, an experience that will nourish you and build you up spiritually. Only the peace of God will calm your physical reactions in battle. The source of God’s peace is God himself. If fear is knocking at your door, begin to face that fear with the peace of God. This is God’s secret weapon to destroy fear.
