A laborer who murdered a mother-of-two and buried her in woods near Coventry has been jailed for 18 years.
Mohammed Dernian, 42, was acquitted of murder at Warwick Crown Court on Tuesday, but not found guilty of murder On the death of 33-year-old Rene Coulson.
Durnion claimed Ms Coulson died of a drug overdose following an argument on May 21 last year.
But prosecutors told the court she strangled the 33-year-old in a deliberate attack and feigned a mental health crisis when police arrived at her flat in Penns Lane. coventryA neighbor heard the screaming and called 999.
Officers searched the property using mobile phone flashlights, but did not find Ms Coulson’s body – which is believed to have been hidden under a mattress.
After the police left Durnion moved in with Ms Coulson and a month later she was found in Binley Woods. It was partially burnt by pouring petrol.
