A man has appeared in court accused of murdering a woman in a block of flats in Glasgow.
Emergency crews were called to a property in Kirkton Avenue in the city at around 8pm on March 17 following reports of concern for 41-year-old Joanne Newlands.
Ms Newlands was pronounced dead at the scene.
Brian Hughes, 49, was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

Hughes, of Broxburn in West Lothian, was remanded in custody and will appear in court next week.
Ms Newlands’ family are currently being supported by specialist officers.

Detective Chief Inspector Gordon McKenzie previously said the force’s thoughts were with “Joan’s family and friends at this time”.
He added: “A comprehensive investigation is being carried out and we are working to establish the full circumstances of what happened in the days leading up to Joan’s death.
“I am appealing to anyone who may have any information, no matter how insignificant, to contact us as soon as possible.”
