Thoughts on today’s verse…
When we read the book of Acts, we find that the disciples were “Rejoicing because they were deemed worthy to endure dishonor for the name’s sake.” (Acts 5:41) Since Jesus has already passed victoriously for us through the terrible ordeal of crucifixion, we should consider sharing in His sufferings not a hardship, but a privilege. The truth of our commitment is often best seen by doubters when we are “in the ring of fire.” So let’s keep our character during the attack and rejoice because we have seen in Jesus what happens when God’s children remain faithful even at the cost of their lives.
My prayer…
What a precious name you have given to your son, O! God. To Him be glory in all the earth and in all the heaven, until every heart knows that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God and God of the universe. May my life bring you glory regardless of comfort or pain, celebration or suffering, strength or weakness, joy or sorrow. In the name of Jesus, and for His glory, I pray. Amen.
