Police investigating the late former Harrods boss Mohammed Al Fayed have questioned a man on charges of human trafficking and abetting rape.
The suspect, who is in his 60s, was interrogated under caution this month after 154 people came forward to report allegations of sexual abuse. Al FayedThe Metropolitan Police said.
The force said the man was interrogated between February 25 and March 25 this year. Like there were three women aged 40, 50 and 60.
All four have been questioned on suspicion of aiding and abetting rape and sexual assault, aiding and abetting sexual crimes and human trafficking for sexual exploitation.
The Metropolitan Police said no arrests had been made and the investigation was continuing.
A statement from the force said: “Expert detectives leading one of the Met’s largest and most complex investigations continue to investigate individuals who may have helped or enabled Mohammed Al Fayed to commit his crimes.
“The investigation remains active and four suspects have now been questioned under caution as part of the live investigation.”
It added: “To date, 154 victims have come forward and reported allegations of sexual assault, rape, sexual exploitation and human trafficking.
“Over the past 18 months, officers have taken detailed accounts from victims and witnesses to build a comprehensive picture of the alleged crime.”
Al Fayed died in August 2023 at the age of 94.
