In this month’s devotional we are looking back at what the Lord—the faithful God—has done. We are also approaching Holy Week, when we remember the finished work of Jesus Christ. He died to save us from sin and give us new life with God forever. Psalm 145 can help us gain perspective in all this.
As I write these devotionals, the seminary where I serve is preparing to celebrate its 150th anniversary of the training of Christian pastors and teachers. Throughout these years the school has maintained the vision and mission of proclaiming the supremacy of Jesus Christ over all creation.
While working on planning this celebration, I looked at a lot of old photos. Many of the old photographs contain faces of people who so many years ago had no idea what God would do through them, but they had hope. They hoped that the God who had led them so far would continue to lead the next generation, and so on. I have been a witness to God’s faithfulness across generations, and, like those who served before me, I am called to commend God’s actions for generations to come. (The anniversary service will be livestreamed tomorrow, Palm Sunday evening, and we will remember the Lord’s deeds and commend them to the next generation.)
Which pictures of Aastha do you keep with you? Memorization. Tell. Praise our faithful God!
