There is something undeniably sophisticated about the look, that feels effortless and at the same time thoughtful. I’m trying to emulate this in my personal style and refine my wardrobe to achieve that undone but sophisticated look – the kind of outfit that feels simple, but still looks elegant.
Don’t get me wrong, looking attractive doesn’t have to mean looking formal. The whole idea is that these looks are rooted in basic, basic pieces that most of us actually already have in our wardrobe, but styling them in a way that feels elevated and thoughtful. Think jeans with an oversized blazer or a baggy white T-shirt tucked into loose-fitting trousers. It’s really a mix of structured pieces mixed with loose, soft styles to create that carefree feel. Accessories also play an important role, from sunglasses to belts; Every detail matters to the overall aesthetic to really give that undone, polished finish.
If you want to see the same vibe this spring, I’ve included five of my favorite undone but polished looks that I’m going to use as my inspiration.
Undone Yet Polished Look To Copy:
1. Blazer + Shirt + Straight-Leg Jeans
Style Notes: When I don’t know what to wear but want to look stylish and fit, Aida’s look is my favorite. The thing I love about it is that all the pieces are capsules. Wardrobe essentials, so it’s very easy to recreate with items you already have. I love the fact that she’s kept her accessories gold and tied in her bag’s hardware with her shoes, belt, and jewelry for an overall harmonious finish.

2. Leather jacket + cami top + tailored trousers
Style Notes: While Caroline’s look may seem a little dressier than others, it’s a great example of how to really elevate a tailored trouser so they look less corporate and more chic and cool. Although we’ve got four different colors to play with here, it’s not done in a way that feels overwhelming, and I love the softness of the lace mixed with the structure of the trousers and leather jacket.

3. Suede Jacket + Black Jeans + Trainers
Style Notes: The polished, unfussy look doesn’t have to be the same as heels – Deborah shows us how to wear it Trainers still feel high. Pairing a brown suede jacket with brown suede trainers gives that seamless finish, and choosing black jeans instead of washed out black or gray makes such a difference. It all depends on those fine details in the finish to achieve that sleek feel.

4. Oversized Blazer + Blue Barrel-Leg Jeans + Printed Heels
Style Notes: Blue jeans always look more casual than black, but Liv’s outfit shows how to wear it in a more elevated way. The barrel-leg has a more structured fit to them and pairing it with an oversized blazer and basic vest gives a balance of casual yet polished. Finishing it off with printed heels proves that you don’t have to keep this look neutral if you love incorporating prints into your outfit.

5. Baggy T-shirt + tailored trousers + minimal accessories
Style Notes: There is something about making a baggy t-shirt look so elevated and stylish that is truly impressive. Although Lisson’s accessories are not obviously obvious, they are well thought out and minimalistic enough to bring the whole look together, without feeling too over the top. This would work equally well with wide-leg tailored trousers as well as the tapered style she has here.
