Lisa Kudrow and RuPaul enthusiastically support Michael Patrick King at the 2026 Human Rights Campaign Los Angeles dinner held at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles.
Both stars helped honor the writer/director with the Visibility Award at the annual event and even took a great photo with Michael standing between the two of them.
Michael was the one who created Lisa’s show return back and RuPaul’s series aj and queen.

On stage, as he accepted the well-deserved award, Michael said, “So, we have to push back those lies about ourselves, about those who are different, and push forward powerful stories about people who dare to be themselves, stories about characters who risk being personal in the face of society.”
“In living rooms in this country, people who don’t know a queer person or think they don’t know, they’re watching TV, and sometimes seeing an LGBTQ+ character, and sometimes something that happens on television, a certain story, a wonderful character, a joke, a heartfelt revelation can tear down the scaffolding that we’ve been forced to build around ourselves and reveal the soul underneath,” he said.
Michael further noted, “And when that happens, people in their own homes, sitting on their couches, can see us and get to know us. And slowly, we’re not ‘them’ anymore.”
