A heated dispute between neighbors in Florida took a dramatic turn when a man allegedly brandished a sword during the argument, police said.Authorities in Cape Coral arrested Raul Elosegui Fernandez, 41, last week, accused of threatening a neighbor with a large bladed weapon. He has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon. There is no report of anyone being injured.Police said they were called to a residence on Everest Parkway at about 6:57 p.m. for a report of a weapons-related disturbance. The caller told dispatchers that his neighbor had threatened him with a sword before fleeing in a white Chevrolet pickup truck.According to investigators, what started as a verbal disagreement escalated when Fernandez retrieved a sword from his vehicle. The weapon was described as having a tan handle and a metal blade approximately three feet in length.Police said Fernandez raised the sword above his shoulder and approached the victim while making threatening statements. The victim then went to his home and contacted the authorities.Authorities later found Fernandez’s truck at his residence on Southwest 6th Place. The sword was reportedly visible inside the vehicle and was confiscated as evidence.Fernandez was taken into custody soon after. Authorities have not released further details about the nature of the dispute or whether he has appeared in court.
