An expert says Prince William is misunderstood when it comes to faith
The Prince of Wales, who does not attend church as frequently as his father King Charles or grandmother Queen Elizabeth II, holds the faith as dear as his ancestors.
The conversation begins when William attends the enthronement of the new Archbishop of Canterbury, Dame Sarah Mullally.
Commenting that William should be more open about his faith, royal correspondent, Jenny Bond, told the Mirror: “I think it will only become a stickier situation if the church wants to make it one. I admire William’s honesty about his beliefs.
“He may not have the same deep devotion to spirituality as his grandmother or his father, but he has made it clear that he recognizes the importance of church and that he is committed to building “a strong and meaningful bond.”
“We know that William does not go to church regularly. But he is fully aware that one day he will be supreme governor of the Church of England and hold the title of Defender of the Faith. He is no fool,” she said.
