Prime Video’s new television show has been pulled due to Sophie Turner’s injury. tomb Raider, On stopping.
On Sunday, March 29, Amazon’s MGM Studios released a statement to Deadline, addressing the unexpected halt in Tomb Raider production.
The statement read, “Turner recently suffered a minor injury. As a precaution, production has been paused for a period of time to allow him time to recover. We look forward to resuming production as soon as possible.”
Notably, the studio did not reveal details of the injury that the 30-year-old actress is suffering from as she plays archaeologist and adventurer Lara Croft in the upcoming television adaptation. tomb Raider Video game series.
The news comes after the show’s executive producer Phoebe Waller-Bridge, an English actress and screenwriter, released a statement announcing Turner’s casting.
“I am so excited to announce the addition of this phenomenal creative team as well as the formidable Sophie Turner as our Lara,” he said.
“It’s not very often you get the chance to create a show of this scale with a character you’ve grown up loving. Everyone on board is extremely passionate about Lara and everyone is as outrageous, brave and hilarious as she is. Get your socks off… Croft is coming…,” said Waller-Bridge.
Turner also reflected, admitting, “I’m beyond thrilled to be playing Lara Croft. She’s such an iconic character that means so much to so many people – and I’m giving it everything I’ve got.”
“Following in the footsteps of Angelina (Jolie) and Alicia (Vikander), with their strong performances, there are huge needs to fill, but with Phoebe at the helm, we (and Lara) are all in very safe hands. I can’t wait for you all to see what we’re cooking up,” game of thrones Star noted.
