And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. John 8:32
The benefit of truth to us depends not so much on the knowledge gained by study as on the purity of our purpose and the sincerity of our belief. It is not enough to simply read the instructions in God’s Word. We are to read with meditation and prayer, filled with a strong desire to receive help and blessings. And the truth we learn must be applied to daily experience. Those who have a true sense of the subtlety of Satan’s devices for these last days will walk with fear and trembling, with great humility, seeking divine guidance every step of the way. God’s angels will instruct them.
The Holy Spirit opens the rich treasure of truth to those with humble and sorrowful hearts. A spring has been opened for Judah and Jerusalem, in which we can bathe and be cleansed. He who purifies his soul by following the truth will see and appreciate the love and mercy with which God has paved the way for His children. He will realize that the paths of human invention lead to eternal destruction.
