James McAvoy secretly welcomed his second child years ago.
In a recent chat with People, the 46-year-old actor talked about becoming a father again at 40 and how it’s different from becoming a father at 30.
It is pertinent to mention that the ‘Atonement’ actor welcomed his second son, first with wife Lisa Liberati. His son is now four years old.
Expressing his thoughts on welcoming children at 40, James shared, “Having a baby at 42 is definitely easier in some ways.”
“I worry less. I’m a little more philosophical,” the Split actor explained.
However, there’s still one thing that makes the journey to fatherhood later in life difficult: getting older, James admitted.
Acknowledging that as age increases, being a father “gets harder as you get older and tired.”
James is also father to 15-year-old son Brendan, who he welcomed with his ex-wife Anne-Marie Duff.
In February 2022, James told the outlet that he had married Lisa in a private ceremony.
The couple first met on the sets of the horror film ‘Split’ when Lisa worked as a personal assistant to the film’s director M. Night Shyamalan.
James has been keeping his life private since his divorce from Duff, as he revealed in a previous conversation with Mr. Potter in 2017, saying, “One of the things that’s stayed the same is that I still don’t talk about my personal life.”
