Daredevil: Born Again Packed a surprise for the fans. Initially, the series deleted one episode from season one.
But now the show has taken one surprise move after another, a rare move from Marvel, which typically releases one episode per week.
Yet Parade reports that there are partly practical reasons behind this decision. The two-episode surprise drop will pave the way for The Punisher: One Last Kill, starring Jon Bernthal as the brutal Frank Castle, arriving on May 12.
Both episodes clock in at about an hour and are titled Shoot the Moon and The Scales and the Sword.
Given this one-time move, the remaining episodes will revert to the original weekly release. Season two is already at a whopping 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, surpassing season one’s stellar score.
Meanwhile, fans speculate whether the Punisher Will enter season two.
But Vincent D’Onofrio, who plays the Kingpin, recently delivered bad news for the gun-toting anti-hero.
“If John wasn’t busy making his hour-long Punisher movie and hanging out with that bug, we would definitely love to have him join us for Season 2,” he said in a tweet.
The logline for season two read, “Mayor Wilson Fisk takes New York City to task as he hunts down public enemy number one, the Hell’s Kitchen vigilante known as Daredevil.”
