Chris Hemsworth has revealed why he decided to walk away from Hollywood life, calling the move to Australia the “biggest decision” he’s made.
The 42-year-old actor says he and his wife Elsa Pataky decided to leave Los Angeles shortly after welcoming their twin sons Sasha and Tristan. radar online.
While the family was living in LA, Hemsworth admitted that they were not enjoying the lifestyle, due to the constant paparazzi attention and the lack of work being filmed locally.
“We were kind of established in LA and not enjoying it, you know,” thor The star was remembered. “Like there wasn’t anything shooting there. We were just kind of filming everywhere.”
As a result, the family relocated to a coastal property in northern New South Wales, Australia in 2014.
Hemsworth described returning home as feeling like a “vacation”, explaining that his property offers space, privacy and closeness to nature.
“You know, when you get back from work, you want to go on vacation,” Chris explained. The property provides access to outdoor activities such as surfing, horse riding and motorbiking, allowing his children, including his daughter India Rose, to experience the great outdoors as they grew up.
“For me, coming home feels like a vacation. We have a big farm and horses, motorbikes and surf,” he said.
The move brought them closer to their roots, with brothers Liam Hemsworth and Luke Hemsworth also choosing to live in Australia.
