Prince Harry has issued a major statement after confirming his father King Charles and Queen Camilla’s US state visit.
King Charles will visit the United States in late April, Buckingham Palace announced Tuesday, despite some calls to cancel or delay the trip.
The visit will come as the US celebrates its 250th anniversary of independence and will follow the king on an official visit to the British Overseas Territory of Bermuda.
Following the announcement, Prince Harry and Meghan shared a major update on their website.
This week, Prince Harry was in Washington, DC, to meet, learn from and speak to leading professionals and experts in privacy, AI governance and cybersecurity law at the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) Global Summit, she said.
He was a keynote speaker alongside leaders from various industries, including Salman Rushdie, Woodrow Hartzog, Maya Shankar and Alyson Stoner.
Speaking on the occasion, Prince Harry said: “We can invest in human-centred technology led by human-centred leadership.”
Archie and Lilibet’s loving father went on to say that humans can be both the problem and the solution to privacy-related digital harms.
“Humans are the architects of this extraction technology and the resulting dangers, but as such humans are also in a position to design a better future and world where the right to privacy is not just an ideal, but the norm.”
In his closing remarks, Harry called for “brave leadership and commitment” to building systems where privacy will not only matter but will be impossible to ignore.
