A Florida man was arrested after allegedly stealing more than $900 worth of Disney collectible pins. The incident occurred at a Disney merchandise store, where the man allegedly took several pins without paying. Store employees witnessed the theft and contacted local police. Surveillance footage helped identify the suspect, who was later located by deputies. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said the items stolen included a variety of pins popular among collectors. The total value of the merchandise was estimated at more than $900. Authorities confirmed that the man had removed the security tags and hidden the pins in his luggage before leaving the store. When interrogated by the police, the suspect admitted to taking the items. He was taken into custody without incident and charged with theft. Authorities did not immediately release his name. This type of theft is considered a serious crime, especially because collectible Disney pins are highly sought after and quickly resell on secondary markets. Law enforcement stressed the importance of reporting such thefts immediately, as these can escalate rapidly if stolen merchandise is resold online or through other channels. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the stolen pins were recovered and returned to the store. The man is currently being held in the county jail pending further legal proceedings.Store management said they are reviewing security procedures to prevent similar incidents in the future. A spokesperson said, “We take the theft very seriously and are grateful for the prompt action of law enforcement.”This case confirms that vigilance is needed in stores that sell collectible and high-demand items, especially at tourist destinations like Disney.
