Donald Trump has attacked Bruce Springsteen in response to the musician’s recent criticism of his administration during a live performance.
This exchange began when Springsteen took the stage in Minneapolis to kick off his Land of Hope and Dreams Tour. On stage he made several political comments, accusing the current leadership of damaging America’s global reputation.
The musician told concertgoers, “While working Americans are struggling, our President and his family have enriched themselves by trading billions of dollars for people in office in a corruption unmatched in American history. It’s happening now.”
“This White House is destroying the American idea and our reputation around the world,” he said.
Springsteen, who has been openly critical of Trump for years, described the current period as a “very dark time” and called on citizens to maintain values such as honesty and compassion.
Within a day, Trump hit back with a personal and highly critical post on Truth Social, dismissing Springsteen’s talent, mocking his appearance and accusing him of political bias.
“The bad, and very boring singer, Bruce Springsteen, who looks like a dried prune who actually suffered a lot from the work of a bad plastic surgeon, has long had a terrible and incurable case of Trump Derangement Syndrome, sometimes called TDS.”
Trump further said, “The man is a complete loser who spews hatred against a president who won a landslide election, including the popular vote, all seven swing states, and 86% of counties across America.”
The President also urged his supporters to boycott his concerts.
