A man was arrested Thursday after threatening to attack a high-speed train in Germany, police said. Many people got minor injuries due to bursting of firecrackers.
The train was going from Cologne to Frankfurt on Thursday evening. It was evacuated to Siegburg, not far from Cologne, and federal police said the man was captured and arrested, German news agency dpa reported. They said he had a knife in his bag.
According to the police, the man had locked himself in the bathroom of the train. German newspaper Bild reported that firecrackers were thrown into the corridor. Police said several people suffered superficial flesh wounds.
There was no immediate information about the suspect.
