Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, is said to be angry over Meghan Markle’s upcoming paid appearance in Australia.
According to Radar Online, insiders have revealed that King Charles’s son is concerned about how the incident could affect the Sussexes’ public image.
“Harry is absolutely furious at the way it has been drafted and he sees it as a tasteless money grab that risks sending completely the wrong message at a very sensitive time for him,” the source said.
“This is making him feel very uncomfortable because he knows how it will be perceived, especially by his family and critics who already question his motives – and that’s the last thing he needs right now.”
For those unaware, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s planned trip to Australia, their first since stepping down as senior royals back in 2020, will see Meghan attend a luxury wellness retreat in Sydney. Tickets for the event are said to cost around $2000 and include a gala dinner and speaking opportunities.
However, sources say the Duke of Sussex is “genuinely concerned” that the incident could derail the quiet progress being made behind the scenes to improve relations in the UK.
Another source claimed that Harry feels such an incident “directly promotes the narrative that his trips are driven by image and financial gain rather than purpose,” while he is “determined not to reinforce that criticism while trying to move forward.”
Sources claim Harry and Meghan’s differing approaches have created tension behind the scenes.
