Find yourself among beauty circles, and there’s a 99% chance you’ll hear Sophie Pavitt coming up in conversation. The esthetician, widely known as NYC’s “acne whisperer,” is the ultimate expert for breakout-prone skin, having transformed the complexions of many, including celebrities and countless beauty editors, from her downtown studio. (I practically begged her to meet her right before my wedding, if that tells you anything about her skin-clearing magic.)
She and her eponymous brand are often hot topics in the Who What Wear office, largely due to her fame. Mandelic Clearing Serum. Almost every one of my coworkers has asked me if it’s worth the promotion, to which I proudly say: Yes, yes it is. However, lately, I’ve been getting questions left and right about another soon-to-be-launched Sophie Pavitt Face product — a product I really can’t keep quiet about since I got an early sample of it months ago. “Is it good?” An editor asked me as I sat down at my desk. “Should I buy it?” Another joined in.
My reaction? “Guys, this might be my favorite product in the entire line.” Soon, several employees announced plans to add it to my cart before I even drank my first cup of coffee. I suggest you do the same before the stock runs out. Trust me—it’s a winner.

here she is! Introduction to Pavitt Skin Jelly Oil Free Gel MoisturizerA lightweight hydrator with a bouncy, gelatinous feel. As its name suggests, the formula has zero oil—a great addition to your routine as we approach summer—and, as a bonus, the zinc and copper actually help balance oil production due to the PCA. That said, don’t worry if your skin becomes dry; The moisturizer is infused with beta-glucan and panthenol to hydrate and soothe skin, as well as allantoin and Centella Asiatica to help soothe redness and inflammation.
I personally have combination skin that is breakout-prone and a little sensitive (such a fun combo, I know) so this is literally Excellent A formula to target all my needs. Needless to say, it looks incredibly well under makeup. In my opinion, the consistency of the jelly is a bit like a primer, and it adheres flawlessly to foundation and concealer. No pills of any kind.
there is no one in it Glowy finish, if this is something you typically look for in a moisturizer, but don’t think that means it’s not hydrating. It’s not like traditional mattifying moisturizers, which often have a sticky effect on the skin. It glides on like a dream, and I can really feel its soothing, plumping effect with each application. My complexion still looks hydrated, not greasy – a balance that is very, very difficult to achieve. It definitely varies by brand Omega Rich MoisturizerWhich has a dense texture and dew-like dryness. Both are non-comedogenic (would you expect anything less from an acne whisperer?), but the jelly version will be suitable for those looking for something less thick. As Pavitt herself said during a brand presentation, it is “the moisturizer for people who hate moisturizer.”
If your skin is extremely oily, Pavitt says you can use Screentime SPF 30 As your only moisturizer (it’s super creamy and hydrating), and apply skin jelly at night. That said, applying both layers during the day hasn’t caused any problems for my combination, breakout-prone skin. I have been applying for two months skin jelly every morning after Mandelic Clearing Serum-The one product I stock up on again and again despite having access to practically every beauty product. I can already tell that this Skin Jelly Moisturizer will also fall into that camp, and as much as I’d love to stop at its magic, I won’t rest until every beauty fan I know has tried it for themselves.
