Keeping track of trends is an important part of my job, and sometimes, a special release comes along that I can tell right away that’s going to sell out. Nike’s newly re-released Moon Shoe is exactly that.
Landing today, the brand has delved deep into its archives to bring back its first ever designed trainer. Originally created in 1972, co-founder Bill Bowerman designed the original sole using his wife’s waffle iron, giving rise to the now-iconic traction that cushions the shoe.

This latest iteration, priced at £90, is dressed in a soft pearl shade, accented with a smooth leather Swoosh and set on a black waffle sole, a nod to its track-and-field roots.
After teasing the silhouette through a last year A sold-out collaboration with Jacquemus, the Moon Shoe is finally returning to Nike’s main line. With its low-profile shape aligning perfectly with the current appetite for streamlined trainers, this revival feels particularly timely.
