John Lithgow, who plays Albus Dumbledore in the new ‘Harry Potter’ series, revealed one of the fears he had when signing up for the role.
In the new documentary for the upcoming TV reboot of the famous film franchise, ‘Finding Harry: The Craft Behind the Magic,’ the 80-year-old actor opens up about the pitfalls of filming the role at his age.
“I knew when I did the first season of Harry Potter that I would be 80,” he shared, adding, “That meant I would be about 88 years old before it was all over.”
“It’s a very difficult thing to contemplate,” John admitted.
Referring to the young cast of the HBO series, which includes Arabella Dominique McLaughlin, Stanton and Alastair Stout, who play Harry, Hermione and Ron, respectively, John said, “They’re going to grow up in this. And I’m going to grow up with them.”
The ‘Daddy’s Home’ 2 actor praised the new cast, calling Dominic, McLaughlin, Stanton and Alastair “an amazing group” who “all like each other.”
The Harry Potter TV series is all set to release on December 25 on HBO Max.
