Chloe Bailey has reacted to her online fan base after excitedly posting about attending a Kanye West concert.
The 27-year-old singer and actor posted a series of live videos from West’s performance at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on her Instagram account.
She titled one clip as “legendary” and the other as “very inspired”.
West’s current tour, which began on Wednesday, is his first US concerts since 2021.
During that time, West made repeated anti-Semitic statements, described himself as a Nazi, and released a song called hail hitler And sold swastika t-shirts.
Online, several commenters criticized Bailey for openly supporting West as a user on X, with one writing: “Chloe baby.. put the phone down oh my god.”
Another said: “What’s wrong with her? I tried to give her a second chance after the Chris Brown collaboration but forgot about it.”
Additionally, in 2023, Chloe also received backlash for collaborating on a single with Chris Brown, a controversial figure since 2009.
This was when he pleaded guilty to assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna and received five years of probation, community service hours and domestic violence counseling.
It’s also worth mentioning that Kanye West, who has changed his name to Ye, is scheduled for a number of shows around the world for the next few months.
This will be before arriving in London to headline all three nights of the Wireless Festival in July, a schedule that has been heavily criticized by Jewish leaders and British politicians.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer said on Saturday, “It is extremely worrying that Kanye West has been booked to perform at Wireless despite his previous anti-Semitic comments and celebration of Nazism.”
“Anti-Semitism in any form is abhorrent and must be confronted clearly and firmly wherever it appears. It is everyone’s responsibility to ensure that Britain is a place where Jewish people feel safe,” the UK politician said, further emphasizing that he believed Kanye West was not the right choice to headline the festival.
