Issam Kazim, CEO of Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing, welcomed tourists from all over the world to Dubai. He said that despite the evolving regional situation, the city continues to welcome visitors with major experiences, hotels and attractions operating in the suburbs. In an interview with Khaleej Times, Kazim said public services in Dubai remain operational and tourism offerings including beaches, shopping destinations and other attractions are also accessible to residents and international visitors. Authorities are closely monitoring developments and although access may be temporarily adjusted at some locations, operations across the larger tourism ecosystem will continue as required.

    Safety and security assured

The official stressed that safety for passengers is ensured and has always been at the core of Dubai’s general business approach. “For us, visitor safety always represents the highest priority. Safety is embedded in every decision we make, every operation we run, every experience we provide,” he said. He said Dubai does not choose between security and hospitality and offers both together with the help of systems that are designed to do “exactly that”. “This is the promise of Dubai, one that continues to be delivered, no matter what is happening around us.”

    flights resumed

Air connectivity is an important pillar of tourism in the Middle East, especially in cities like Dubai that host large expatriate populations. From April 1, Emirates Airlines has resumed flights to more than 65 destinations around the world, reconnecting the world to Middle Eastern airspace. Visitors are encouraged to get in touch with official sources including Dubai’s dedicated travel advisory page: Visitdubai.com/en/travel-advisory.

    hospitality experience

Dubai’s hospitality sector is also ready to welcome visitors and hotels operate and offer accommodation for both residents and visitors. Luxury resorts and independent restaurants remain active, highlighting coordination between authorities and private sector stakeholders. “We don’t apply a one-size-fits-all approach. Whether it’s a major hotel chain, an independent restaurant, or a retail destination, we are listening carefully and acting accordingly,” Kazim said.

    food initiative

Middle Eastern cuisine is one of the most attractive and delicious cuisines for travelers. Thus, the city’s tourism activity is also being enhanced by curated experiences and initiatives. Until 19 April, a gastronomy campaign ‘Dubai, A Fine Way to Dine’ is currently running, offering a curated selection of culinary experiences across the emirate’s restaurants and inviting visitors to explore and connect through shared dining experiences.

    Dh1 billion stimulus package

Dubai City has also launched a Dh-1 billion stimulus package aimed at supporting businesses in key sectors including tourism and hospitality. Under this, hotels have been allowed to postpone the payment of tourism dirhams as well as sales charges on rooms, food and beverages for three months. Businesses have also been provided relief in operating charges. In 2025, Dubai welcomed a record 19.59 million international visitors overnight. This number is expected to decline this year considering the impact of regional tensions due to the ongoing war between America-Israel-Iran. Such measures allow businesses to ensure liquidity as well as attract customers. Furthermore, they allow Dubai to provide the seamless travel and hospitality experience for which it has been known for the past decade.
