The Princess of Wales, who is set to become the next Queen of England, was bullied by her classmates in her early years.
Writing in her biography, William and Catherine: The Monarchy’s New Era: The Inside Story, royal expert Russell Myers said: “Pupils who studied with her at the time have revealed that whereas many young girls at Downey House usually faced adolescent taunts about their appearance or conscientious attitude towards school work, Catherine’s experience was tragically spoiled by groups of young girls who, as young as 11, “Having already formed a bond having attended the school since the age of 13 (Katherine did not join until she was 13).”
He added: “Catherine’s initial excitement at attending one of the country’s top schools was quickly tempered by feelings of being an outsider.”
“Looking back on it, it was definitely bullying.” The classmate added, “She was very quiet and bookish, and the girls had already formed their own friendship groups, so it was hard for her to fit in.”
