US President Donald Trump has warned that Iran could be destroyed overnight, raising fears of a nuclear disaster.

Trump said this just hours after threatening to destroy Iran’s power plants.
He said he would unleash “hell” on the country if the deadline he set for reopening the Strait of Hormuz, which was set to expire at 8 pm ET on Tuesday (1 am BST on Wednesday), was not met, later adding that the US would “blow up the entire country”.
“Tuesday will be Power Plant Day and Bridge Day in Iran, rolled into one,” Trump said on Truth Social on Easter Sunday. “No such thing will happen!!! Open the f**kin’ strait, you madman, or you’ll be in hell – just watch! Praise Allah. President Donald J. Trump.”
The Strait of Hormuz remains a deeply divisive issue since hostilities began more than a month ago. Oil prices have climbed as the strait, through which about 20% of all oil traded globally passes, has been closed.
