Gujarat Titans achieved a spectacular 1-run win over Delhi Capitals in the 14th match of IPL 2026 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on April 8. It was a game that went down to the last ball and kept the fans thrilled throughout.
GT Post 210 rides on top order firepower
Gujarat Titans, when invited to bat, made a strong score of 210/4 in the allotted 20 overs. Captain Shubman Gill led from the front by scoring 70 runs in 45 balls.
Jos Buttler added quick runs by scoring 52 runs in 27 balls, while Washington Sundar scored 55 runs in 32 balls. The trio ensured that the GT crossed the 200 mark with ease.
Rahul kept DC alive in the chase
Delhi Capitals needed 211 runs and got a strong start thanks to KL Rahul. He played a brilliant innings of 92 runs in 52 balls and kept the chase under control.
Rahul looked ready to finish the game but fell to Mohammed Siraj in the 17th over. His wicket shifted the pressure back onto DC in the final overs.
Rashid turned the game around
The middle overs proved decisive as Rashid Khan bowled the match-winning spell. He finished with 3/17 and removed key batsmen Nitish Rana, Sameer Rizvi and Axar Patel.
Their tight bowling slowed down DC’s scoring and created pressure which mattered in the end.
The last over goes to the wire
DC needed 13 runs in the final over bowled by Prasidh Krishna. David Miller tried to take the game deep with a late cameo.
In a dramatic twist, Miller refused to take a single off the second last ball. When 2 runs were needed on the last ball, he missed a slow ball and Kuldeep Yadav was run out while trying to take the second run. GT held on to their nerves to secure a thrilling win by 1 run.
