In the first two episodes of the final season of The Boys, a super-killer virus is so deadly that many thought it could kill the mighty Homelander.
Or that punters on Polymarket – a betting platform – currently believe so.
With a whopping 91% on the site, they’re betting that the tyrannical superhero will die in Season 5, sending shockwaves through The Boys fanbase.
But given the show’s reputation for delivering cruel surprises and introducing unexpected twists, nothing is guaranteed.
However, online viewers believe that The Boys’ final departure may also include other Supers.
Still, Erin Moriarty, who plays Starlight, says she started last season with a different mindset. After being separated from Hughie and the rest of the crew, she became what she calls “hardened”.
He told ComicBookMovie, “Obviously she’s been estranged from Hughie and all the boys. She’s been at the forefront of a movement that has resulted in a lot of casualties.”
The actress further added, “In addition to the period between seasons 4 and 5, she has to deal with the fact that the movement she’s leading has had a lot of deaths that have been tied up with all the previous seasons.”
“And what’s happened to him? He’s finally at the point where he’s been forced to be a little more tough than we expected him to be last season.”
The Boys, Season 5, is streaming on Prime Video.
