A pet parrot named Babe goes where few of his feathered species have ever been – frolicking underwater in a custom-built submarine.
The bird went snorkeling in the Bahamas with its adventurous owner, Steven Lawyer, who built a special bird-shaped sub that delivered oxygen through paintball cylinders.
The parrot is seen cruising the ocean floor in his personal submarine built by his zany owner.
Steve repurposed a food container and equipped it with an air valve for the tiny six-inch-long bird.
It also had a safety alarm, although it is unclear whether Babe Bird knew how to activate this safety precaution.
The baby parrot appeared to be looking out and nodding its head in satisfaction Coral and glittering fish on their 15-minute underwater tour.
Steve, her owner, says that Babe “was not stressed” and that she entered the sub “willingly.”
The pair tested the submarine in a bathtub before launching it into the sea.
Babe the parrot quickly became an internet sensation after a video showed the cute green parrot frolicking with its owner in the water.
“He’s having the best time of his life”, commented one person who spotted the adorable green bird exploring the ocean.
“His friends won’t believe him,” joked another.
However, some criticized the owner for the stunt, pointing out that the bird “had no business being there” and was “in the exact opposite place” where it was supposed to be.
Incredibly, snorkelling isn’t even the weirdest activity Steve has done with his pet parrot Babe.
Last year, the green parrot was taken sky-diving in which he voluntarily jumped into a bubble tied to Steve’s stomach for freefall.
Babe has also gone on a week-long bike trip with Steve and his family, where his owner claimed he has become “a celebrity of sorts”.
A slightly more frightening underwater surprise awaited a woman swimming in the ocean when she reached down and accidentally grabbed a baby crocodile.
The heart-breaking moment shows the woman picking something up from the water, thinking it is a branch, before the gator opens its jaws.
